CAKE’s annual art auction fundraiser will be happening this Saturday, April 25th, at NO NATION, located at 1542 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. The event will start at 7:00, and it will consist of a live auction of art donated by a number of comics luminaries, a silent auction, and live comics readings by talented cartoonists from Chicago and elsewhere.
If you’re still deciding whether to attend, we wanted to highlight some of the cartoonists that will be performing, the art that will be available to purchase in the auction, and the door prizes that will be awarded in a raffle.

In this performance, they will be teaming up with visual artist Ben Marcus and musician Sean Whittaker to create a haunting shadow show about a fated elevator ride, with a story that unfolds through hand-made shadow puppets on overhead projectors and an ominous original score.
John Porcellino
John Porcellino, creator of the long-running King-Cat minicomics series, will be performing a reading from his hilarious/disgusting 2014 book The Hospital Suite.
Lyra Hill and Lillie West
